PCCA USA, PCCA Canada and Eagle Recognize 2024 Team Members of the Year
HOUSTON, Texas – February 17, 2025 – PCCA USA, PCCA Canada and Eagle recently honored three outstanding individuals as their 2024 Team Members of the Year. Marcus Penn, PCCA Facilities, received the 2024 PCCA USA Kay Sparks Team Member of the Year award. PCCA Canada QC/QA Regulatory Affairs Manager Steven Hansen was recognized with the 2024 PCCA Canada Team Member of the Year award. Eagle Purchasing Supervisor Josie Gonzalez received the 2024 Eagle Employee of the Year award.
PCCA President Jim Smith and Vice President of Public Affairs, Education and Human Relations Lizzie Harbin jointly presented the PCCA USA award to Penn, while Eagle President Ross Caputo honored Gonzalez, on Saturday, January 18, during the companies’ annual New Year celebration. PCCA Canada General Manager Amanda Cassel recognized Hansen at their holiday party on December 6, 2024.
Each year, nominees and final recipients of these awards are chosen by their respective teammates, based on who best exemplified the PCCA/Eagle Core Values and Principles in their daily actions throughout the year.
When presenting the PCCA USA Kay Sparks Team Member of the Year award, Smith remembered Kay Sparks who was part of the PCCA family — both as a member and an employee — for more than 30 years. She served as PCCA’s compounding training course instructor and was known for her unparalleled attention to detail, dedication to teaching and service to others. She passed away in 2012.
Harbin shared: “Marcus, you are a true representation of all six of our Core Values and 28 Principles: always there to help with anything and everything our team members need — and always with a big smile — even enduring the combined heat of steaming pots and Houston temperatures while cooking at our annual Crawfish Boils!”
When announcing Gonzalez, Caputo said, “Josie, your positive energy is contagious. You consistently go above and beyond to promptly respond to any request, even during your lunch hour. Congratulations and, might I add, well deserved!”
Cassel was equally enthusiastic about Hansen. “I am very excited because I know how much this award will mean to our recipient. He embodies our value of ‘Care Deeply’ and shows it every day in his interactions with colleagues.”
“Congratulations to all three of our very deserving award recipients,” Smith said. “Our success as a company is driven by our people. We are proud to have these dedicated individuals as a part of our PCCA family.”
