George Roentsch October 2010, PCCA International Seminar
George talks about the impact of compounding on the industry and on patients.

George Roentsch, RPh, owner and pharmacist at The Apothecary in Keene, N.H., was long recognized as the compounder’s compounder. His passion and fire for the art of compounding was legendary. This passion was not just limited to the innovative contributions that he made to compounding over the years, but also his generosity and sharing of these ideas and formulas with other compounders.

A PCCA Member since June 1983 and 1994’s PCCA Pharmacist of the Year, George was a constant and memorable presence at PCCA seminars and symposiums throughout the years. Anywhere you saw a crowd gathered, you could count on finding George at its center, regaling his listeners with stories of how compounding had come through again for a patient, his favorite formula tips, ...or his take on what kind of season the New York Yankees were going to have.

His passion and love for compounding lives on in the George Roentsch Scholarship, the recipients of which honor and continue George’s tradition of passion, innovation, and sharing.

Many words have been used to describe George – the ones that resound for most are mentor and friend. His work has advanced the art and science of compounding and leaves a lasting legacy.

Please share your thoughts and memories of George.
